Thing #18: I heart Facebook

I have to say I am quite familiar with Facebook.  I check my page everyday.  It is just a fun outlet for me.  Not being from Clarksville, it allows me to keep up with friends back home and my family.  My mom even has a Facebook page.  And yes, I did ask to join the APSU College of Education group.  Here is my screen shot asking for permission to join.



However, teachers especially need to know the privacy settings of Facebook. They also need to be aware of tagging procedures.  Teachers need to make sure that they do not have anything on their page that they would not want an administrator or parent to see. 

Can Facebook be used for a classroom application?  I really don't know about this one.  I guess if a teacher had a classroom page, and she was the administrator of it, then it could be used for collaboration and instant messaging between members of the class.
