Thing #17: Delicious

I liked "delicious."  Like the video stated, favorites/bookmarking on your personal computer can start to become a very long list.  I liked the ease of adding delicious to the toolbar and just clicking on it to add a link.  I also like being able to categorize topics easily.  Here is a screen shot of biology resources "stack" I have added.



I have used a bookmarking site before called PortaPortal.  It was not as user friendly as delicious.  In portaportal you had to copy and paste the URL's.  I learned about this site when I attended the Teach Tennessee program.  Here is a screen shot of what portaportal looks like.






I like the fact that a bookmarking site would allow you to access your links from any computer.  I also think that the collaborative aspect of the site is helpful to teachers.  It was nice to be able to search a topic to see what others had tagged to be helpful or useful in the classroom.  Delicious is an organizational and time saving tool for teachers. 

In closing, I went to go see Hunger Games this week.  It was really good.  The scenery was how I had imagined it to be when I read the book.
